ABOUT TINA

About Me

My desire for fitness and moving my body has developed in parallel for me throughout most of my life.

During my time at college, I joined the Shotokan Karate Club. It quickly became my religion. I soon took up running, moving quickly into a love of mountain running. Finding liberation whilst running up and launching myself down mountains with a bunch of muddied, half crazy and well-seasoned devotees was also terrifying.

Somewhere between all that (water) skiing came to the forefront. The exhilaration of it all became a conditioning, balance and tenacity exercise. Biking and time in the pool followed suit.

Pilates practise became a much needed physical re-balancing shadowing my form during training and contributing to my performance.

I pursued these activities for the pure love of them and the incredible sense of freedom they gave me from life’s white noise.

It wasn’t long before the dots merged and I (unknowingly at first) started competing in multi disciplined adventure races, finding myself on the podium from time to time.

Then life stepped in. We moved abroad and I had a little boy. Everything takes a little longer when you have the pitter-patter of tiny feet running after you. Whilst away however, I became a “BASI Pilates” Instructor and soon after, a Barre Instructor.

It is the power of the mind with the influence of the breath that gives us the incentive to move our amazing bodies and just as importantly, to know when to take a little break.

I believe working-out, or exercising, to be one of life’s greatest privileges. It is an all-encompassing dynamic experience challenging the mind, body and spirit, always rewarding.

As my journey continues, the most refreshing thing about teaching is that no matter the age or level of physical awareness there are always new ways in moving our bodies, improving our health and seeing the world. 

There has never been a better time to start. So come on! There’s a troop of fun like-minded people who can’t wait to meet you!
